Delete your petloov account

You can delete your account yourself, in the petloov app. It happens straight away and cannot be undone. If you cannot open the app, you can ask us by email.

If you are a pet owner

Delete an owner account

  1. Open petloov, signed in to the account you want to delete. If this phone has more than one petloov login, switch to the right one first: Settings, then Switch account.
  2. On the Profile tab, tap the round button with three dots at the top right. It opens Settings.
  3. Under Account, at the bottom, tap Delete account.
  4. Read what will happen, then type your password in Your password. If you signed up with Apple and never set a password, there is nothing to type.
  5. Tap Delete my account. There is no second question: the account closes at once and the app signs you out of it.

If you run a business on petloov

Delete a business account

  1. Open petloov, signed in to the business login.
  2. Tap Account, the round button at the right end of the tab bar.
  3. Below Business support, tap Delete account (“Close this business on petloov for good”).
  4. Type the business password in Your password.
  5. Tap Delete my account. The business closes at once.

Can’t open the app?

Write to hello@petloov.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. Say whether it is a pet owner account or a business. Writing from that address is how we know the request is yours.

What deleting does

Your name and contact details are erased. The records of what happened, such as bookings and credits, are kept without them. Here is all of it.

A pet owner account

Erased

  • Your name. From then on the account shows as “Deleted user”.
  • Your email address, phone number, About text, city, country and postcode.
  • Your profile photo.
  • The link to your Apple ID, if you signed in with Apple.
  • Your password is replaced, so the account can no longer sign in, on any phone.

Ended and cancelled

  • Your plan ends. Credits left in your account are lost.
  • Bookings that start after today are cancelled, so the places stop expecting you.
  • A booking that starts today, or is already under way, is not cancelled. It goes ahead as booked.

Kept

  • Your pets and their care profiles, marked as removed. A place where a pet had a booking can still see its profile on that booking.
  • Your bookings, with their dates, pets and notes, and your history of credits and plans.
  • Your messages with places.
  • Any reviews you wrote, still under the first name and last initial they showed before.
  • Your favourite places, your invite code and invites, and your language and notification choices.
  • The places you booked with see you as “Deleted U.”, with no photo.

Why some things are kept

A booking is a shared record between you and the place, and a credit balance only adds up if every movement stays. So petloov keeps these records and erases who you are from them. How long they are kept is not set yet: today, nothing deletes them after a time.

petloov does not store your location, so there is none to delete.

A business account

Closed and cancelled

  • The business closes for good. Owners can no longer find or book it, and it cannot be opened again.
  • Every booking that has not ended is cancelled, including today's and stays already under way. Each owner gets every credit back and a notice in the app.

Erased

  • The login's email address and name.
  • The business phone number.
  • The password is replaced, so the login can no longer sign in.

Kept

  • The business name, description, address and map point, website and photos, and its times.
  • Its bookings, reviews and messages. Owners still see its name and address in their booking history.
  • Its banking details, if you added them.

Why some things are kept

Each booking is a shared record with the owner who made it, so it stays whole. Banking details are kept for now because how a closing business is paid for the credits it earned is not settled yet. To ask about them, write to hello@petloov.com.

If you signed in with Apple

Deleting your account removes petloov's link to your Apple ID, but petloov does not yet tell Apple. To stop using your Apple ID with petloov, open your iPhone's Settings, tap your name, find Sign in with Apple and remove petloov there.
